The F7U-4 Kerbal Cutlass is the ultimate evolution of the Cutlass airframe. The -4 has extreme speed and agility in-atmosphere and is now capable of Single-Stage-To-Orbit rendezvous with a space station in 100 km orbit. Refueling on orbit also makes the -4 a capable near-Kerbin space defense fighter.

For simplest SSTO flight: turn on SAS, stage air-breathing engine, and advance throttle to max. The -4 will lift off on it’s own around 50 m/s. Raise landing gear and lower nose to about five degrees above the horizon. Stage rocket engines at about 1350 m/s and 18,000 m. Apoapsis will increase to 70,000 m. Coast to Ap then raise Pe. The -4 should have roughly 100 m/s dV remaining at 70km orbit.
