Description

The Bebe BD-5J is a homebuilt aircraft that was produced as a kit by Bede Aviation. The J indicates that this is the Jet version. The BD-5J is probably best known for it’s apperance in the opening scene of James Bond - Octopussy. The BD-5 had 12000 orders placed and 5000 plans or kits sold, but because Bede Aviation went bankrupt, only a few hundred kits were finished. The BD-5J holds the record for the world’s lightest single-engine aircraft, weighing only ~160 kg. Today only ~150 BD-5’s are airworthy and only ~30 are still flying.
.
The replica I made is slightly to big because of KSP part limitations, though I still count it as a 1:1 replica. Be careful with pitch when you are flying, never hold it for to long, it’s best if you just tap it. Also be careful when landing. land as slow as possible without stalling because the front gear likes to jump on touchdown.
Have fun flying!
