Description
Following in the Meteors footsteps, the Vampire was the second successful Jet, taking to the air in September 1943. With only one engine and wartime pressure on de Havilland, the production of the Vampire was delayed until April 1945. Once introduced, it saw multiple rapid improvements and was employed as ground attack during the Korean War. It was retired 1970.
