Description

Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star
The P-80 was the first American designed jet to see service overseas during WWII (the third overall for the Allies). While following on the heels of the Bell P-59, the P-80 was produced en masse and saw service in the Korean War as the F-80. The introduction of the swept-wing Russian MiG-15 saw the conventional F-80 outclassed and was replaced by the F-86 Sabre.
