Description

After damaging the engine of her modified for science A3 after a nasty tail strike and having to be rescued by Jebidiah in a jury rigged rescue variant of the same craft from the southern most mountain region of the Kerfrican continent; Valentina Kerman began pressuring the engineers at DragonStar AeroSpace for the necessity of a short range search and rescue craft … Thus the A6 - Oriole was concieved.

Combining the forward cockpit of the unreleased A1 and the inline engine design of the famed A3 Sparrow this craft is capable of both search and rescue and standard transport of up to two kerbonauts (not including pilot) … The new fixed angle canard feature at the nose of the craft adresses the issue of the CoM shifting to the front of the craft at lower fuel levels maintaining a decent amount of maneuverability into longer missions. The lack of a forward fuel tank is mostly compensated for by the addition of an additional mk 0 fuel tank/air intake assembly built into the lower rear fuselage and also houses the new retractable landing gear components reducing the drag on the craft considerably compared to earlier DS designs.
