Polaris was heavy fighter/interceptor specific to high-speed flight.
However, its stability is relatively low and sometimes unrecoverable spin had occurred while in combat maneuver.
Furthermore, it doesn’t fit to fly high altitude because of high wing loading.
This means Polaris is not good at intercepting enemy bomber flying high.

From the circumstance described above, Errai was made as the successor.
It can fight against all enemy aircraft in all altitude; its engines are improved, wing loading has been increased and control surfaces are upgraded.

(Errai is the star that will succeed Polaris as the Earth’s northern pole star.)
