Description
It’s a submarine! It has most every science experement on board along with a science lab. Some of the more functional parts of the sub include ballast cargo bays, landing gear, variable pitch props, fuel vents, a drill and radiator, high power antennas, and a docking port in front. The propeller has 2 modes, high speed and low speed. the craft comes with the propeller at hgh speed mode. To start the sub moving you can’t take off in high speed mode. You have to shift to low, get moving to about 4m/s and then shift to high speed. Floatiness is controlled by the dive planes in the front and rear of the sub and the service bays. The dive planes can be deployed and trimmed to keep the sub level while moving and the service bays can be opened to make the sub sink. Max speed is about 9.4m/s. The sub is designed for use on Laythe and Kerbin only. The sub comes with only enough ore to get the prop to sink into the water enough to be able to propel the sub. Once landed you will have to find a shore to drill ore from. The sub currently cannot be launched with a full ore load becuase A. The sub weighs a huge amount fully loaded, and B. The sub cannot support it’s own weight fully loaded out of water. Have fun sciencing in submarines!
