Description

The KC-56 Super Pegasus is a multirole transport aircraft converted from one of the former Kerbal Express Airlines’s Boeing 777-200LR and is planned to serve the Kerbin Air Force by 2021. Powered by the GE90-150A developed from a joint-venture between C7 Aerospace and General Electric Aviation, it provides at least 25% more thrust than the existing GE90-115B.
.
The aircraft used to have a longer wing, with foldable wingtips to accommodate narrower aprons. However, it was immediately removed after bad performance during flight-testing; including stuck wingtips and lower top speed than most commercial airliners. The whole wing has been changed to a standard Boeing 777 wingspan, which is shorter, requires less maintenance and allowed the aircraft to reach a higher top speed.
.
However, deliveries of the aircraft is halted after the third flight-testing, where the construction of production aircraft has begun, the test aircraft suffered from RUD (Rapid Unplanned Disassembly), marking a flaw on the aircraft. Causes include the parts are no longer attached using KJR-treated Aluminium Rivets, which used to form the backbone for joining parts of all previous Frontinco aircraft, due to the fact that KJR filed for bankruptcy during the KOVID-19 Pandemic. The company shut its doors by April 28th.
.
Fortunately, all two onboard the test flight managed to jump out and glided down safely on paragliders. Frontinco started consulting other manufacturers for help.
.
To add insult to injury (although it happened earlier), the two prototype aircraft (one lost during third test flight) suffered heavy damage from a tsunami near the shoreline of Harvester Massif, where the aircraft is based in Frontinco’s second final assembly line at Harvester Massif International Airport. One completely damaged beyond repair and converted into a coral reef, one is badly damaged and recovered, with parts placed roughly where it is, however. This is first noticed in the comment section of Frontinco’s official social media post, stating that spotters noticed a slight difference from the pre-tsunami unit versus the post-tsunami unit. So far, Frontinco only managed to capture the pre-tsunami unit.

The aircraft no longer featured the flying boom-drogue ‘crossover’ refueling equipment due to ‘excessive redundancy’ and for the sake of capacity.
