Description

The Heron is a complete rebuild of Bacon Space Program’s venerable PBK-1 Katarina for Ferram Aerospace.

I found that the original aircraft performed very poorly in FAR, and so I went about redesigning the wing, floats and the fuselage.

It is recommended that you only use 75% throttle when taking off on land. This is due to the engines being above the wing causing torque which can lead to instability. The aircraft will pitch up at about 70m/s.

To land on water, use the airbrakes (bound to the wheel brake action group) to reduce your speed to 70m/s or less. Press 4 to deploy the water brake once you’re down.

Use the flap deflection to improve takeoffs from water. You’ll need to get to about 80m/s before you can pitch up.
