Description

Ours is a life full of questions. Sometimes they are important (How do stairs work? Should I get a new job? If Anderson Cooper and Snoop Dogg did a collab would it be called Coop Dogg or Anderson Snooper?) but other times they are relatively pedestrian.

This craft attempts to answer one of the latter: how do I lift a sizable crew into orbit without worrying about first-stage recovery or chunky RAPIER clusters? It flies fairly uneventfully and will even with a fairly hasty ascent will deliver ur greenbois to 75x75km parking orbit with a smidge over 1K dV left. (Also the giant canards are unsually upsetting to me, but also I like it.)

Take-offs and Landings:
- Lift off at a bit over 100m/s. Be gentle to avoid tail strike.
- Keep a fairly shallow ascent (10deg or less) up to 5k.
- Acend at 10deg to 9K and level off almost entirely.
- Deploy spikes at 16K or once you can no longer gain speed.
- Due to the abundance of control surfaces here, bring yourself close to prograde and then hold prograde. Otherwise autopilot will put you in an unstable wobble, which you’ll attempt to heroically recover from, and then you will tear chunks off the plane and have a very bad time.

Depending on your needs:
- Those devil-horn tailfins look cool, but if you’re having problems with roll drift, you can just use a vertical control surface.
- The provisions for docking are adequate for most needs, but if you need to maneuver in a crowded area, you can double the vernors and set them up more balanced. I didn’t include a retrograde RCS booster, but you may also find that useful.

A stock aircraft called Diet Ham. Built with 53 of the finest parts, its root part is mk3Cockpit.Shuttle.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.6.1.
