Description
It’s easy to think of life as a journey of perpetual disappointment, but far more satisfying to see it as a flowering path of mental expansion. In this light, hardships become challenges, funky dreams become funky realities, and mistakes become delightful discoveries! What fun. Wow.
Sometimes discovery
happens after a goal is set. This is how a spartan LKO rescue design became a luxury cruiser. Sometimes, discovery
is an organic process. While pilots found the unsually aerobatic nature of the craft quite pleasing, early business travellers enjoyed neither the bunp
at takeoff nor the tree grinder
final approach. This is how smaller space programs ended up with good-looking planes and no target audience.
Thankfully, discovery
can manifest as an act of fate as well. This is why very discombobulated but also oddly relaxed individuals started calling. Seemingly, ads were being served on unrelated radical online searches, and a group excited about going to space
in a vehicle shaped like a giant cigar had come out of the woodwork.
Necessity, it is said, is the mother of invention, and sometimes the thing which maters about a client isn’t how oddly fragrant they are but rather how green their money is. After a long and strange journey, these airframes found a new calling. Equipped with amenities such as trippy paisley carpeting, mood lights, and a 6 CD changer featuring various Dub and Psych Rock records, they offer a spacey experience and not-so-mini
bar featuring a best-in-class selection of in-flight snacking options.
~tl;dr~
- very cheap (15k, 1k mission cost)
- low tech (only one 160 tier tech, 30 parts, can launch from bad runway and land in mild backcountry)
- very maneuverable; use precision controls unless you like putting on an airshow
- needs some heat-reducing piloting: ascend at 10-15deg, in dry mode for as long as you can. Aim for a 40k Pe over the ocean east of KSC when deorbiting. Brake hard in upper atmo, and dive hard after cruising high up to KSC. gl;hf
