Here is a 3 stage, Atlas inspired launch platform with atop, a 3 Kerbal crew stage that retains around 1620 m/s of Dv in an orbit of 250km around Kerbin making it a suitable ferry for crew between a Mun space station and the surface of Kerbin.
Action 1 = Deploy Solar Panels.
Action 2 = Toggle Engine.
Action 3 = Detach Abort Stage.
