Description

Nautilus was designed as a way for CORVUS to ferry kerbonauts to the surface of Duna and back. The entire vehicle is encased in a fairing to shield vital components from hypersonic aerocapture around Duna. The fairing also provides Nautilus with a very high lift to drag ratio, making it very manuverable at hypersonic speeds. This allow for pinpoint aerocaptures and landings.

The 1-FR is not capable of sending Nautilus to Duna on its own, but by docking a second 1-FR upper stage to Nautilus as a transfer stage, 5 crew can be comfortably sent to Duna and returned home.
