Named after the snake-entwined staff of Mercury, the Caduceus is an unmanned planetary exploration vehicle.

Equipped with 4 science experiments, a Communotron antenna and a pair of solar panels, this probe should be able to travel to and land on most stock bodies. Power upgrades recommended for the Jool system.

With its included LV-909 transfer stage, the probe has over 6km/s of DeltaV for you to squander on your trips through the Kerbol system.

This beautiful probe, complete with transfer stage and recoverable lifter, can be yours today for just under 70,000 kredits! Order now while supplies last!

DISCLAIMER: Warranty void if used to land on atmospheric bodies or to go sundiving. Probe is not guaranteed to survive aerobraking, atmospheric reentry, or getting wet.

Parking orbit, minus lifter.

Flying the Caduceus

  • The lifter has enough Delta-V to get into a 255x255 orbit of Kerbin.
  • Action group 1 extends the solar panels.
  • Lifter is recoverable. It does need more batteries and more vacuum control authority.
  • The Oberth effect works for insertion burns too.
