Description
The mainstay of the Eris program, the Eris 5.1 now with RTLS capability and a beefier 2nd stage. This capable launcher can loft a full orange tank into LKO or smaller craft beyond and reuses both stages. Using LVT-30 and LVT-45 engines exclusively, this formidable launcher has a venerable heritage. For powered boostback burn of the 1st stage (requires FMRS) or powered landing lock one of the black and white tanks prior to launch and unlock it after staging, then pump it to the lowest tank if performing a powered landing. The 2nd stage is also reusable, uses liquid fuel and oxygen for power and RCS, and can also be used as an interplanetary service module (antenna not iincluded).
