Description
A mod rocket called Duna Lander Thingamajig Mk.1. Built with 99 of the finest parts, its root part is mk1-3pod.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.12.5.
Made a random Duna lander designed purely for looks, its neither practical nor efficient, but still somehow works. It can be used as a station shuttle as well, as the dV offered by the lander and transfer stage can be enough for most transfers.
Didn’t include a launcher for this, but the vehicle weighs around 270T so it will definitely need moar boosters to get into orbit around Kerbin.
Transfer stage has around 1700m/s dV, so it can easily get you from LKO to a Duna orbit and possibly even do the deorbit burn as well. The lander has airbrakes to help with descent, but they wont do much and mainly just serve to look cool. Its TWR is also insanely high, so be light on the throttle just before touchdown and right after liftoff! The lander has 3000m/s, enough to get you back into orbit as well. From there, use whatever is left in the lander + the engines in the trunk to get you back to Kerbin. The trunk should have enough dV to transfer, capture, and deorbit, just remember to drop it before reentry
