< TWINK >
There is a gap in capabilites for close air support for the army sector of MSOW that is not adequately covered by currently produced fixed wing or helicopter aircraft. The Aerospace Division of PGS tasked with a loitering heavy weapons platform brings in the Tactical Warfare Infiltration and Neutralization Kit (TWINK), designation KU-957. Twink has a fuselage designed to optimize its stealth characteristics and lift production for increased loitering times. Part of its DNA is in fixed wing fighter with portions of the body producing some amount of lift. The engines that power the TWINK are actual jet engines contributing to horizontal thrust for increased speed and aiding in lift produced by the body when cruising. The engines–similar to fighter lift-fans–drive into the coaxial rotor system removing the need for a tail rotor in place of angled stabilzers. The belly rides low with internal weapons storage and a reduced radar crossection gun under the nose.
