On the verge of a major low Kerbin space station construction mission and new spacecraft, a revamping of the current line of launch vehicles was seen as a necessity with the effort again aiming to increase the capabilities of the current families of rockets. Yet, with that objective is are pressures to continue using the current infrastructure and designs as well as continued cost cutting. What this means for the Columbidae VII is rather major alter to the design to piece together cores in a way that merges manufacturing lines together. This has led to the fuel and oxidizer separated into tanks in separate structures.
