Certaintly an odd system, and likely an untenable one, but nonetheless here is a 747-8 Frieghter converted to house an internal Vertical Launch System for missiles.
The original patent calls for being loaded with a static unit with smaller scale ICBMs and theoretically it would allow for reduced fuel for the rocket portion as well as further stand-off operations than something like cruise missiles launched from a platform like the B-52. In this design the VLS system is made to be able to rotate and is meant to house missiles for lower scale operations like strategic ground targeting, air defence, etc.
