Description
The Airbus A1200 is a long-range, wide-body, twin-fuselage airliner that was developed but never widely produced by Airbus. In an effort to save the issue of the increasing population and with not enough A380s to supply this new opportunity for profit, Airbus got to work on designing a radical new aircraft based on research from twin-fuselage aircraft such as the North American F-82 Twin Mustang or the Savoia-Marchetti SM.92, and thus came up with an idea to modify two platforms of their successful A340 wide-body airliner and mount them together, separated by a central main and rear wing.
Using much stronger materials for the central wings to ensure that the aircraft wouldn’t snap in half midflight, Airbus discovered another issue. Not one with the aircraft itself, but as to how they were going to fit the aircraft through the factory doors once the aircraft was complete.
Construction was temporarily halted on the prototype until the aircraft was parked outside, and thus the incomplete aircraft was preemptively revealed to the public and the aircraft immediately gained serious support, even sparking the interest of a few airlines like Lufthansa or Qantas. Even NASA wanted in on the aircraft, as they proposed an idea to further modify the A1200 into an air-launch platform for rockets carrying small satellites. The aircraft was completed a month later, and its first flight only the next week.
Ok, we’re kidding. No such aircraft actually exists in real life, this is just a recreation of a photoshopped image of an A340 in flight. But do what you want with it.
Warranty void if attempting to launch a small rocket from the center wing.
