Description
A stock aircraft called First Generation Hydroplane Boat. Built with 91 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark1Cockpit.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.3.0.
Top speed 120 m/s
I haven’t seen anyone recreate a proper hydroplane in ksp yet. It doesn’t look the part but it works in same in function as a real hydroplane. Hince first generation.
Instead of buoyancy, this boat floats on the top of the water using hydrodynamic lift generated by wings.
At cruising speed (above 35 m/s) the water should only be touching 3 points of the ships, the corners of the two hulls and the tail end. The goal of this boat is to have it travel on the water with the least amount of parts submerge. Ideally, the hydroplane will be floating completely over the water as it speeds up. It is best to have the ship be pitching upwards 2 or 3 degrees nose up. If you pitch upwards too hard at high speeds (such as above 80 m/s) you will blow out of the water. If you pitch down too hard you will dig into the water and flip out. There are flaps on the bottom of the boat meant to help you lift the hulls over the water. The faster you are traveling the smaller the angle you can turn without digging into the water. Above 90 m/s it becomes dangerous to turn in risk of blowing out.

Just drive up into the water or use vessel mover if you have it
