Description

A mod tank called Hover Laser Tank. Built with 62 of the finest parts, its root part is probeStackSmall.

This is an experiment in attempting to make a hover tank using B9’s repulsor pack, it uses an RCS system for thrust and BDArmory’s USAF Airborne Laser as a main weapon, since it’s technically airborne.

Overland acceleration: 3.6m/s
Top Speed: 60 m/s. 216 km/h, 134.2 Mph
Oversea acceleration: 1m/s
Top Speed: 15 m/s 54 km/h. 33.6 Mph

Problems:

Intolerant of most uneven terrain at speed
RCS based thrust system destabilises vehicle at turning at any speed. (fixed with toggle action group)
USAF Airborne Laser uses a lot of power.
Practically defenseless in protracted night engagements.
Only stable till ~55 m/s on even ground, sways at all speeds.

Advantages:

Fast on even ground.
Laser is powerful, over time damage.
Amphibious, if slower than overland speed.

All in all, a fun experiment.
