[The Buran was the Soviet unions awnser the the American Space shuttle! dispite being better than the Amarican shuttle it would only fly once. that mostly has to do with the fact that the Soviets where scared of the miletary potansial of the Amarican shuttle. They belive it could be used to launch a lazer wapon in to orbit test it and then bring it back down for further studey. and posebly even mor worrying i could be used to captuer a Soviet spy satelit, bring it back down and study it. becuse of the they Sovits wanted somthing that could conter this! and the Buran and Enegia rocket was born. the First launch of the Buran was amazing to say the least. it went to orbit de-orbited and landed all by itself. and the west was imprest. they thoght Buran’s would be used to asemble space stations, or even space ship for a man mission to mars. nut as we all know, that didn’t happen. the soviets where so focused on makeing somthing that could counter the miletary potansial of the Amarican shuttle. That it basivly just became that. a wepon. and becuse of this the buran would never fly again.]
