One of the most feared and advanced aircraft of the Second World War.
The B-29 Superfortress is the manifestation of the need by the USAAF for a heavy bomber to replace the B-17 and B-24. It ultimately became one of the most expensive weapons projects of the entire war, and went on to become a powerful aircraft capable of delivering the war home to Japan and served until the Korean War.
NOTE: For this aircraft to display correctly, you need the nothing.png
flag in your game, downloadable here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DhWdtsw46cqRGsmUkkFLFctaI-uj9xuu/view?usp=sharing
This aircraft flies pretty well and is maneuverable although finicky. Deploy flaps and fuel cells (necessary for maintaining higher throttle settings) with the 2
key. On the takeoff run, start changing prop pitch with the I/K keys (Start with pressing I until the acceleration peaks off). Once in the air after reaching around 60 m/s, continue optimizing prop pitch at higher speed. Throttle down around this point because the aircraft can only maintain around ¾ths throttle while still generating enough ElectricCharge to keep the engines running. Even with half throttle you should be able to maintain around 80 m/s given optimized prop pitch.
Bomb bay toggles with 1
key. Use staging to deploy bombs
. Do not hold full throttle for too long or you risk running out of ElectricCharge and shutting the engines down.
