Description

The BAK Manta’s aerodynamics are… unconventional, but they work, despite what you might think when looking at the centre of mass and centre of lift.

She is a medium fuel-cell driven flying wing/flying boat with a crew capacity of 2 + 4. She is extremely agile yet easy to handle, and is capable of surprising aerobatic feats: surfing the stall angle at a hair over 20 m/s, blasting away straight and level at over 300 m/s, skimming over waves, easily landing on or taking off water, even in choppy weather.

She works equally well on Laythe as she does on Kerbin, and while she is thirsty when run at full throttle, she cruises easily at over 200 m/s at quarter-throttle, which gives her a quite a lot of legs.

Controls:

1 - Start fuel cells
2 - Set blade pitch for take-off and landing
RCS - Toggle elevator deploy (set to make water take-offs a bit easier)
Main throttle - Torque limit
F/B - Tail trim
U/D - Prop blade pitch
