Description

The BAK-7000 Ikarus is a tilt-rotor plane built for Eve. It is not a ready-to-deploy package – in the supplied configuration all it can do is buzz around the KSC – but it is ready for you to tailor to either automated or kerbaled missions to Eve.

Features:

  • Powered by four standard electric rotors fed by eight solar panels mounted on wings
  • Indefinite daytime endurance on Eve (and Kerbin, for that matter)
  • Tilt-rotor functionality for hover and cruise
  • Cruise speed around 90 m/s on Kerbin, around 55 on Eve
  • Survives atmospheric entry to Eve without additional heat shields
  • Carries pair of rocket motors with about 1800-1900 m/s dV; fuel load should be entirely consumed before or during atmospheric entry to Eve
  • Has cargo bay that can carry a few kerbals in command seats or a scientific probe payload
  • Can maintain altitude on Eve at over 22 km, operating ceiling is not known

Controls:

1 - Toggle engines 1 and 3
2 - Toggle engines 2 and 4
3 - Hover pitch
4 - Acceleration pitch
5 - Operating pitch
6 - Cruise pitch
9 - Rotors forward
10 - Rotors up
