The original version, now superseded.

The current version, with lighter components and a more efficient powertrain.

Description

  • Updated with advances back-ported from the BAK-52 series

It’s a wee little solar-powered helicopter! Featuring contra-rotating twin rotors.

Throttle is mapped to translate forward/aft (H and N keys). Collective is mapped to translate up/down (I and K keys). Engine and clutch toggle is mapped to action group 1. Collective restriction is mapped to translate left-right (J and L keys).

To fly, switch on the motor (AG 1), then apply throttle to the maximum and wait for RPMs to build up. Then increase collective (K key) to take off. Fly normally controlling hover with collective.

To land, disengage engine and clutch (Lights group), then guide yourself down. Once touched down, brake to stop the rotor.

The solar panels are sufficient for sustained flight in the daytime.

Actions:
1 - toggle clutch

Axes:
F/B - engine torque
U/D - collective
