Additional Mods/Patches
IMPORTANT!
KerbalX hasn’t listed all the required mods, so make sure to also install the additional mods/patches listed below the main mod list.
In addition,
• I’ve found or created a few Module Manager patches for Airplane Plus to add basic FAR, AJE, and Real Fuels compatibility. This can be downloaded here - drop this folder into your GameData folder
• I’ve created a config for using AtmosphereAutopilot to fly this aircraft. That can be found here - drop this into your GameData/AtmosphericAutopilot folder. This is basically mandatory, as the aircraft is basically unflyable otherwise - I built it to be statically unstable, just like the real thing, so AtmosphereAutopilot’s fly-by-wire capabilities are absolutely necessary.
Description, Flight Characteristics, etc.
This is my first craft I’ve uploaded to KerbalX, but I’ve been building planes in KSP for a while now; I’m proud of my work here, and I hope it looks good to everyone else haha
This is a replica of the F-16C Block 52, designed to handle similarly to the actual F-16C. It has functional air brakes, LEX, flaperons, etc. Similar to its real life counterpart, this aircraft is an excellent rate fighter, with very high acceleration and a good rate of turn. While it should be straightforward to fly (assuming you’re using AtmosphereAutopilot), it has a bit of an odd quirk with its flaps, which can cause the aircraft to roll over at low speeds and high AoAs. I haven’t been able to figure this one out, but if I do I’ll release an update for this craft.
If anyone has any suggestions on what aircraft I should build next, please let me know!
