The Aircraft of Legends
Start a day off with some Phantoms, end the day off with a Phantom. Good day for KerbalX today, eh?
A large twin-seat interceptor and fighter-bomber.
F-110 Spectre was the USAF designation for the F-4 Phantom II before the US armed forces switched to the unified designation system.
This is the non-BDA version of the aircraft (pictures were reused). BDA version.
Due to the angled cockpit on this build, the aircraft is instead controlled through a drone core behind it; control is automatically transferred by start-up staging or activating SAS.
This rendition also features the leading edge slats found on the F-4. Gotta get those recreation accuracy points. Also, the outer wings have a 12 degree dehedral and the tailplanes have a 23 degree anhedral just like the real thing.
Most renditions are always off on the nose. Yeah, I know it’s a bulbous radome, but it’s not that big. Mk1 Non-Commercial cockpit is a blessing. Also, I sorta got lazy with the tail, but also because I didn’t want to have a bulky vertical stabilizer, so I went with a quick and dirty but aesthetically pleasing solution. Also, future note for everyone: the F-4 does have an all-flying tail, not horizontal stabilizers with elevators…
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.3.1.
