Description

A mod aircraft called Crown-84 ‘Super Flatbread’ (FAR). Built with 127 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark2Cockpit.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.12.5.

I did my very best to make the swingwing mechanism as stable as possible, leading to it being somewhat complex on the inside. Sadly, FAR really does not seem to like this idea, and often the mechanism jumps out of its lock at +6g - especially when Physics Range Extender is enabled. Also, sometimes it applies a lot of drag to the wings when they are swept, although not always - it appears to be 50/50. The best work-around for that is to take off with the wings swept back. When it works, it can fly at full throttle, with payload, on the deck, without afterburner, at mach 1.5-1.7 - depending on how generous FAR is feeling at the time you launch the craft.

Sadly, going fast is really all it can do, as the manouverablility is frankly piss poor. Especially with the aformentioned issues that appear to be caused by FAR. Regardless, i’m rather happy with it when it does work.
