What is a
The usual stock weapons are kinetic: just throw something fast enough and you will damage something.
This is different. In case of naval vessels, the claw latches onto the steel plate. Just before doing so, you enable the heat weapon (action group 3). This will heat up the plate until it explodes.
If you’re too early the heat weapon will just throw you in the opposite direction.
If you’re too late and the claw connects, you’ve lost the weapon (in the case of multiplayer).
If you’re too late and the claw doesn’t connect, it still makes for a good kinetic weapon, the claw has one of the highest impact ratings of all parts.
The claw doesn’t always connect. Make sure the angle is as close to 90 as possible.
The heat weapon doesn’t work against wing parts. But those don’t have a high impact rating anyway.
Make sure you have enough speed and are close enough, also make sure afterburner is enabled for that extra push.
Without afterburner this thing is a floating cruise missile that can cover a great distance.
