M1A1 Abrams

The M1A1 is the premier american MBT or Main Battle Tank. The tank was developed in the late 1970’s after the collapse of the joint American-German MBT-70 program to create the worlds most advanced tank. The MBT-70 program created the modern tank structure and advised the development of the Abrams and Leopard II. The Abrams carries the M256 120mm smooth bore cannon which fires a variety of shells at high speeds. The tank has excellent surviveability due to the large blowout panels on the top back of the turret. The ammo is stored in the back of the turret separate from the crew so if the ammo happens to be ignited by a shot to the ammo rack, the explosion will not enter the fighting compartment and will instead explode out of the roof allowing the crew to escape alive.

To launch the Abrams, first decouple the turret from the body, then detach the launch clamps on the turret, then the hull.
