F3H Demon

.
.
The F3H was a carrier born fighter designed for the United States Navy after less favorable, non swept wing fighters where phased out. The aircraft would, however, never preform its role and was instead used as a missile carrying interceptor because of its less than favorable thrust to weight ratio. In this role the aircraft was a great compliment to the more favorable fighters it served along side of such as the F8U and the F11F. It shares a striking resemblance to the F-4 as the F-4 took many design inspirations from it. Its most notable differences to the F-4 are its very unique intakes and single engine layout. The aircraft was not supersonic due to its lack of thrust although it was designed to be.
