F-80C-10

.
The F-80 or P-80 as it was originally known, was a single engine jet fighter developed by the Americans during mid to late World War 2 by Lockheed Marten in just 143 days. The aircraft was first flown in the first days of 1944 but wasn’t ready until 1945. The aircraft was made for combat in World War 2 but only saw limited combat in Italy during the late war period. The aircraft would then go on to fight in the Korean War where it would be outclassed by the MiG-15 due to the F-80 having straight wings making it much slower than the MiG. The aircraft served with the United States Air Force up until it was replaced by the vastly more capable F-86 Sabre.
