Description

The Explane Beta ER is a fully equipped, highly efficient stock exploration plane. It is capable of reaching speeds of up to 300m/s in the lower atmosphere, and more than 2000m/s in the upper atmosphere of Kerbin (before exploding due to extreme temperatures), and can land on rough terrain, or on sea. It is also able to takeoff from water. It has a mass of 42,982t, with 126 parts, and includes 6 seats.

.
This exploration plane is based on the Explane Beta, while extending its range (ER = Extended Range).
Its large wingspan allows it to fly at very low speeds, such as 60m/s, and provides it extra stability. It is equipped with 4 turbofan engines and can transport up to 4125 units of liquid fuel, as well as 1375 units of oxidizer (2745 units of liquid fuel and 495 units of oxidizer by default). Its takeoff speed is of 75m/s on land and of 80m/s in water. Warning: adding or removing fuel and oxidizer may compromise the stability of the aircraft.
The plane costs £88,586.6 ingame.
.
The plane comes with two solar panels, monopropellant and a detachable fuel tank, directly inside the fuselage of the plane. It has 12,1% more fuel capacity than the standard version.
The plane also features 6 airbrakes and 2 front lights, as well as 2 downwards facing lights. Its landing gear is seamlessly integrated inside the body of the plane.
There are two retractable ladders, located on each side of the nose of the aircraft, that you can manually deploy (useful in water).
.
In order to takeoff from water, set the main engines to full power and pull up; once you reach a speed of 50m/s toggle the first action group to activate the ‘turbo’ engines, while still 'pulling’ up, then toggle it again once the airplane lifts off the water (at about 80 - 85 m/s), and stabilize the aircraft to let it gain speed and prevent it from stalling.
.
The 10th action group (which I set to the [F] key on my keyboard) triggers the thrust reversers, although you can re-assign this function in the spaceplane hangar (SPH).
.
The plane contains a fuel tank that can be jettisoned; in order to jettison it you will need to activate the 2nd action group (which opens the cargo bay), and then the staging [spacebar].

Built in the spaceplane hangar (SPH) in KSP version 1.1
