Test Fighter

The space programs first high maneuverable aircraft was used for engine testing and proof of concept for a few devices. First is the ejection pod, the entire nose of the craft up to the cockpit can detach and deploy chutes in nearly any situation. The larger reserve chute must be manually launched to prevent shearing off at high speeds. The general body and wing design were the second system to be tested. The wings and engines are each attached to the main body directly. This allowed engineers to easily slide them separately in the SPH for testing purposes. It flew in many different configurations, changing the CoM and CoL. This version here is set for high operating maneuverability at the loss of stability after cockpit is ejected.

My first good aircraft that flies right. I used this to learn how adjusting the CoM and CoL affect flight characteristics.

Built with 47 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark2Cockpit.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.2.2.
