Kerbin Space Station - Core

Main Station w/ 11 K capacity and RCS. 85t
The literal core of the KSP fleet. The central structure provides home for 11 Kerbals and everything they need for a complete survey of a new world. The core features a triple in-line docking ports for various modules. Interplanetary transfers see the core paired with two or four NEMO engine modules that can be detached and returned to Kerbin for reuse after final orbit is reached. The RAM or CAM series of ISRU modules can add engineering functions for in-orbit fuel processing. For rescue from LKO, the PPOD module carries 16 Escape Pods. The docking hub comes with a standard docking port on the zenith and starboard side, a Sr. port at nadir and a Jr. to port-side with a secondary ring of 6 Jr. ports for Science Footballs. Another Docking Port Sr is available at the aft end of the fuel tanks. The service bays just under the Lab hold the orbital experiments and storage, a small relay hub around a Narrow-band Scanner and a small garage for the included Scooty Puff Jr.

In the full KSS configuration adding a PPOD, RAM 2 and an asteroid, the total part count comes to 499. The exploration package attaches a Lander mk5 w/Rovers, Space Bus, Vall Hopper, two Science Footballs and two NEMO modules for propulsion which puts the total part count at 645.

Scooty Puff’s RCS tanks are disabled by default. Hit 0 to activate Puff’s RCS thrusters, probe core and antenna.

Science bay contains Hot Seat and atmospheric analysis experiment for light atmospheric science dips if antenna is retracted. Craft not built for reentry, can survive aerobreaking with proper protection.
