Gilly Hopper - Ore Transport and ISRU
Gilly ISRU Lander
Designed for very low gravity airless worlds, this lander ferries ore from the surface to orbit. It’s usually sent with a Space Bus ahead of the main expedition and comes standard with two Polar Relay Scanner satellites to establish comms and survey the body for ore concentrations. If the extra probes are not needed, the decoupler arms can be removed before launch. It seats six Kerbals, one inside, four around the cockpit and one Hot Seat
off the side of the science bay. The Docking Port Jr. on the starboard side of the cockpit serves as a crew accessible mount for a Science Football.
It also serves as a secondary science platform with it’s full service science bay. The science bay even contains a Hot Seat
and atmospheric analysis experiment for light atmospheric science dips if antenna is retracted. Such feature has been used on Eve’s atmosphere. Note, that this craft was not made for harsh atmospheric conditions or reentry. For larger worlds, it’s big sister the Vall Hopper serves in the same roles.
Holds 1500 units of ore.
Does not have ladders, for use on worlds with low gravity.
