Description
It goes up! =P
A mod rocket called UpGoer 7. Built with 222 of the finest parts, its root part is US.1C20.Wedge.Octocore.
Due to the popularity of my UpGoer 6, here is the 7… It is based on the over-used workhorse of my fleet, the UpGoer 5 but upscaled to the next size-node of munacy! To give you an idea of it’s scale, it uses 4 5M class LFO boosters to get off the pad. It’s starting weight is 3,900 tons and weighs about 600 tons on orbit…. The ineffective radial motors are for trimming the final trajectory. The main engine of the second stage is too clumsy to hit an approach corridor so turn it off for the last 5m/sec of dv to hit a precise trajectory. This is the second build of this ship. Steam hosed my install and I lost the first iteraton. =\ The previous one worked Pretty Good ™ but this one is mostly untested. It does launch, even though it will kill your CPU with all the struts it needs to hold itself together. As with all large craft, I suggest using the AOA limiter in Mechjeb to start turning low and gentle… You should be able to keep the RCS off for most of the ascent to save fuel. Also, don’t release the throttle limiter until it dumps the second set of boosters.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.0.4.
