Description
The Aeris 3A is a small and nimble one-seater plane, mostly used as a training craft for fixed-wing flight, and to annoy ground staff by ‘buzzing’ the space center facilities. ¨¨
This is an advanced multi-mission spaceplane based on the mk2 parts. It is my most refined design that I’m happy with. I’ve also experimented with HX parts but I haven’t created something I’m happy with yet. The screenshot is a slightly dated, fatally flawed version but it is probably the most amazing screenshot in my collection so it’s the one I had to share.
Update: been having trouble with this design recently, wings come up the wrong scale, could be my install. Also, there are some stray strut connectors embedded in the wings left over from a much older version of this craft, if you can manage to find them, go ahead and remove them. =)
Update: this is a working version of the plane. It flies just fine but it has one major problem: the engines. The rapiers are not efficient enough to reach orbit properly. On a good flight, they can barely make 80km, possibly with enough for a de-orbit… I’m really sorry guys, I wish I could give you something better. =( It’s already a bloated pig with all the fuel I stuffed into it.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.4.
