Description
Explorer 1 - the first American artificial Earth satellite launched as part of the celebration of the International Geophysical Year. It was the world’s first scientific satellite. It was launched after the Soviet Union’s first two satellites, Sputnik 1 and 2, which showed the United States was entering the space race.
Explorer 1 discovered radiation trapped in the Earth’s magnetic field, later called Van Allen belts, after the chief scientist responsible for analyzing cosmic ray data, James A. Van Allen.
A mod rocket called Explorer 1 + Rocket. Built with 318 of the finest parts, its root part is restock-drone-core-0625-1.
