Updated 21/11 - It no longer bears much resemblance to the original, but is a workable ssto, actually reaching orbit with a cargo. Granted, it’s a small cargo bay for the size of the ship, and it’s not interplanetary, by that’s what happens when you use cargo bays and ssto at this tech level.
PS. If you really want comms put another antenna in the cargo bay, the one at the front sacrifices itself to save the nosecone (overheats).
By towing yuur cargo to space, rather than wrapping it in a bulky cargo bay, you can lift a lot more with a lot less. eg.
Or just strap wings and engines to your cargo directly, two panthers and a poodle made this Mobile Processing Lab feel very sporty..
