Mostly based off of the Embraer 314 or A-29 Super Tucano light support plane. Despite a sad little voice in my head telling me the plane itself isn’t stock (using Airplanes Plus for 1.2.2), I’m really happy with how this one turned out and absolutely happy with how it flies. It’s not the most maneuverable thing but then it really isn’t supposed to be. The wings are much more complex than my other models with working flaps. The plane will literally take off on its own when the flaps are active so long as you turn sas on while you are more or less shown perfectly horizontal on the nav ball. The plane is also very easy and satisfying to land and will practically land on a dime with a good combination of reverse thrust and brakes.
Two quirks to look out for: the flaps for whatever reason will invert themselves from time to time. Recommended that you check each set (There are four) before launching and invert as needed. Also the plane loves to load up in the air, fall, dip backwards and strike the tail. This is a good time to line up the sas for a satisfying takeoff but also a constant (although minor) issue that I can’t fix without breaking the plane mostly because of the stock landing gear.
The engine is extremely efficient only using ~.34-.10/s of units of fuel at a time and still powerful enough to have a positive TWR somehow.
Especially since the more violent mods aren’t updated to 1.2.2 yet this is extremely fun to fly around and surprisingly relaxing to fly low to the ground.
EDIT: I actually don’t think I have aviation cockpits for this mod. The cockpit is from Airplanes Plus. Apparently the only piece KerbalX can’t identify is the stubby nose used for the drop tanks, and I don’t know whether or not this came from Airplanes Plus too. It doesn’t look like Aviation Cockpits is necessary though.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.2.2.
